Obituary for SSgt. Ronnie Nathan Smolowsky

SSgt. Ronnie Nathan Smolowsky, 81, of Warrenville, SC, United States Air Force Retired, husband of the late Mrs. Carolyn Burckhalter Smolowsky, entered into rest on Friday, November 30, 2018, in the comfort of his home. Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Nathan and Sabra Boyd Smolowsky. A Vietnam Veteran, he proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Air Force, where he retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked in Civil Service at Fort Gordon and SRS. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, coin collecting, motorcycle riding and was also an avid pilot. WB Smolowsky was a member of Horse Creek Masonic Lodge #174 A.F.M., the appendant Scottish Rite Bodies and the Order of the Amaranth. In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children and their spouses, Meyer and Shawn Smolowsky, Warrenville, SC and Lisa and Kenneth Sweatman, Elizabeth City, NC; sister, Brenda Higgenbottom and her husband, Herb, Clearwater, SC; granddaughter, Alicia Jackson and his four-legged child, Molly. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2018, beginning at 1 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 o'clock in the chapel. Pastor Dexter Lambert will officiate. Interment with Masonic Rites accorded by the brethren of Horse Creek Masonic Lodge and full military honors accorded by a United States Air Force Honor Guard, will follow in Langley Cemetery, Langley, SC. The brethren of Horse Creek Masonic Lodge will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Due to his love for animals, the family has asked that memorials be made to the Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare.
