Obituary for Ms. Gloria Ann Rush

Ms. Gloria Ann Rush, 85, of Saluda, SC and a former longtime resident of Gloverville, SC, entered into rest on Friday, November 30, 2018, in the comfort of her home. Born in Greenwood County, SC and a resident of Aiken County, SC, since the 40’s, she was a daughter of the late Carl Elvester and Bertha Gentry Rush. Ms. Rush was a graduate of both Western Carolina University and Holmes Bible College, earning degrees in Education and Biblical Studies. She had a passion for education, having taught Social Studies at Langley-Bath-Clearwater High School for ten years. After she taught at L.B.C., she later went on to become Principal Gloverville Elementary School for twenty-seven years, until her retirement. A devout Christian, she was a dedicated member of the former Langley Pentecostal Holiness Church, now Langley Bible Church, where she taught the Adult Sunday School Class for over fifty years. She was a gifted Teacher, Speaker and Educator. She would like to pay tribute to the late L.B. Eargle for his leadership and encouragement during her career in Education in Aiken County. In addition to her parents, family members include a nephew and his wife, James “Rusty” and Gloria Rush, siblings, the late Barbara Rush Posey and the late Carl Symmes Rush, great nieces, nephews and their spouses, Mary Kathleen and Tony Berry, James Carl, Jr and Mary Rush and Abigail Rush Fuller and her husband, Matt, eight great-great nieces and nephews and a cousin and his wife, Billy and Alice Kirkland, who deserve a special thanks. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, beginning at 2 o’clock at Langley Bible Church, Langley, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 o’clock. Pastor Gene Brown will officiate.   Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC.   Due to her love for her church, it has been requested that memorials be made to the Langley Bible Church.
