Obituary for Mrs. Mary Lou Ennis

Mrs. Mary Lou Ennis, 81, of Beech Island, SC, wife of fifty-five years to the late Monson “Monk” Randolph Ennis, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Born in New Holland, SC and a resident of Beech Island, SC, since 1960, she was a daughter of the late Isaac “Pike” and Mattie Wood Sheppard. She enjoyed farming, raising animals, sewing, cooking and most of all taking care of her family. Miss Mary will be greatly missed by her children and their spouses, Teresa (the late Martin) Taylor, Beech Island, SC, Mary Lee and Pee Wee Cummings, Beech Island, SC, Mattie Jones, Beech Island, SC, Randy and Wendy Ennis, Beech Island, SC and Renee’ and Shawn Harris, Beech Island, SC; fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren and special nieces, Diane Deadwyler, Cross Hill, SC and Linda Wood, Aiken, SC. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Ruben (Eva lee) Sheppard, Vernon (Juanita) Sheppard, Rodney (Carolyn) Sheppard, Alton (Pearl) Sheppard, Christine (Lewis) Beard, Frances (Burts) Herron, and Isaac “Bill” Sheppard and her first born grandson, Randy “Lump” Roberson. The family will greet friends on Friday, November 8, 2019, from 6 until 8 o’clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 10 o’clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. Dr. Ray Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC. Pallbearers will be Tyrese Curry, Michael “Lil Man” Ennis, Charles “P-Jack” Cummings, Tony Taylor, C.J. Cummings and David Roberson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Best and Janna Ennis. The family has asked that memorials be made to the American Liver Foundation. (
